Reggaeton

The Reggaeton genre originated in Puerto Rico in the late 1990s, influenced by hip hop and Latin American and Caribbean music.

reggaeton genre by DAW LibrarY Reggaeton is the popular music genre in Spanish-speaking countries.

Jamaican dancehall producers created the dembow riddim. Dembow is made up of a kick drum, a kickdown drum, a palito, a snare drum, timbals, timballrolls, and a high-hat cymbal. Dembow's percussion pattern was inspired by dancehall and other West Indian music (soca, calypso, and cadence), lending dembow a pan-Caribbean character.
