Console-style routing for a clean, studio-like workflow
Our “Startup” template uses a routing concept that mirrors an analog mixing console: clear channel groups, dedicated buses, and shared send effects. We use this same structure across all of our Logic Pro templates. A signal-routing diagram is included in the README PDF.
What’s inside
The project is organized into practical folders so you can record, produce, and mix without spending time on setup.
Audio folder
An Audio folder with ~20 empty tracks is ready for vocals and live instruments. Add inserts and sends per track as needed.
Drums folder
The Drums folder supports Drum Machine, Quick Sampler, Drum Synth, Sampler, audio tracks for one-shots, Apple Loops, and MIDI tracks per drum sound. Each drum sound can be processed like on a console (EQ, compression, saturation, etc.) and sent to shared effects such as reverb, chorus, or delay.
Instruments folder
The Instruments folder contains the virtual instruments used in the “Startup” template. Each instrument track is set up for a fast MIDI-to-audio workflow and mixes like a regular console channel.
Audio Bus Group folder
The Audio Bus Group section collects signals from multiple tracks into dedicated buses—e.g., all drums into a drum bus, guitars into a guitar bus, etc. A Master Bus then receives the instrumental buses before they reach Master Out, making it easy to control overall mix level and glue.
Master FX folder
The Master FX folder contains shared send effects (reverb, chorus, delay, etc.). Any audio or instrument track can feed these effects.
Master Out folder
All buses feed the final output channel (Stereo Out / Master Out). This is the place for final mix processing (EQ, compression, limiting) before export.
Trigger track (sidechain-ready)
The template includes a muted Trigger track with a metronome-like rimstick sound. Use it as a clean sidechain source for compressors on other tracks when needed. A short routing demonstration is included.
