Soul genre
Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Soul genre combines elements of gospel, rhythm and blues and jazz.
Quiet storm soul was influenced by fusion and adult contemporary, with its relaxed tempos and soft melodies. Following the demise of disco and funk in the early 1980s, electro music inspired soul music. It became less raw and more slickly manufactured, culminating in the present R&B style, which sounded considerably different from the original rhythm and blues approach.
